DMR Plays Key Role in Port Authority’s $1B Newark Transformation

Newark, NJ

DMR Construction has been awarded multiple contracts by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as part of a major infrastructure program at Newark Liberty International Airport, representing an overall investment of more than $1 billion.

The program includes the replacement of the existing AirTrain Newark system and the development of modern infrastructure to support growing passenger demand and long-term airport operations. As part of this effort, DMR will deliver key components that support system performance, resiliency, and daily operations.

These projects are central to the Port Authority’s broader vision for the airport, which includes new terminals, improved transit connections, and enhanced circulation across the campus. Upgrading the AirTrain system, originally built in 1996, is a critical step in meeting current and future transportation needs.

DMR’s scope focuses on building essential infrastructure that supports the operational backbone of the new system. The work requires precise coordination, technical expertise, and the ability to perform within active transportation environments.

These awards reinforce DMR Construction’s role as a trusted partner in delivering complex public infrastructure. Through this program, DMR is helping modernize one of the region’s busiest airports and improve the travel experience for millions of passengers each year.
