DMR Construction Services is nearing completion of the $18.3 million rehabilitation and expansion of the Market Street Bus Garage, a critical operations hub for NJ Transit serving northern New Jersey.

Originally constructed over 120 years ago, the facility supports daily bus maintenance, fueling, and servicing operations - many of which run on a 24/7 schedule. The project has focused on modernizing the aging structure while preserving its historic character.

DMR’s work includes extensive interior renovations, replacement of the main bus garage floor slab, upgrades to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and installation of a facility-wide backup generator. The project also features a new 3,200+ square-foot building addition, exterior masonry restoration, and coordinated environmental work to maintain ongoing operations throughout construction.

Now approximately 95% complete, the project is set to deliver a fully modernized facility that enhances operational efficiency, improves system reliability, and supports NJ Transit’s long-term service capacity.
