DMR Construction Awarded $108M Contract for New AirTrain Maintenance Facility at Newark Liberty International Airport

Newark, NJ

DMR Construction has been awarded a $108 million contract for the construction of the New AirTrain Maintenance Control Facility at Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, NJ.

The award is part of the Port Authority's multi-billion-dollar AirTrain Replacement Program – one of the most significant transit infrastructure investments in the region in decades.  The new fully automated AirTrain system will modernize airport connectivity, enhance operational reliability, and improve passenger experience for millions of travelers annually.

The Maintenance Control Facility will serve as the operational hub for the new AirTrain and will include maintenance and repair bays, a centralized control complex, administrative offices, specialized servicing equipment, maintenance tracks, overhead crane systems, wash facilities, supporting utilities, and critical infrastructure components necessary to support ongoing airport operations.

As General Contractor, DMR Construction will lead the delivery of this highly technical and logistically complex project within the active environment of Newark International Airport. Delivering within the operational and safety demands of an active airport requires the kind of precision, coordination, and experience that defines DMR's approach to large-scale infrastructure work.

This award represents a major milestone for DMR Construction and further establishes the firm as a leading contractor for major public transportation infrastructure in the New York-New Jersey region.
